Maybelline Colorama Cherry Sweet

I love the way this polish looks in the bottle, but the first time I tried it on, I wasn't satisfied.
It took three coats to achieve opaqueness, and it was still sheer on the tips of my nails. Actually, it is a jelly polish.

And I don't like jellys on me. I never have such long and perfectly shaped nails that can take a jelly polish.

So I put one coat of some tomato red polish (I don't know which one anymore) and then topped it with CS.
And I liked the result.
Only two coats all together and it dried quickly. Nice mani with no effort at all.

The best photo, that shows best the glitter in CS, was taken in shade, so the color may not be completely accurate. The color is more warm, tomato, strawberry (cherry?) red, instead of this colder tone I got in the photo.
But still, this photo shows the best of this mani: it shines like crazy!

Mint green comparison

Yes, I know, I said I'll post it tomorrow, and that was almost a week ago!
But I took an unplanned trip to the seaside. I passed my Math 3 exam on tuesday and just packed a bag and asked my friend to come with me!
And it was perfect! Altough it's 5 days untill the beginning of the autumn, the sea was warm and the air was hot.
That's why I haven't been posting my comparison.

Now here it is. Polishes used:
OPI Gargantuan Green Grape - thumb, 3 painful coats
Essence A Hint of Mint - point finger, 2 coats
Yolizul 189 - middle finger, 2 coats
Maybelline Minty - ring finger, 3 coats
Orly Gumdrop - 2 coats, but it could have been 1

I can't say any of them are even close to dupes.
I like Essence A Hint of Mint and Orly best because of the smooth application and the color. Minty and Gumdrop have more blue undertones than the rest of the mints.
I don't have much to say about this comparison, I believe that the colors are pretty accurate and you can see it for yourself from the photos.

I would just like to say that if you're even thinking of buying this OPI, don't!!!
It was my first OPI. I wanted to see what's the fuss about that brand, and then I got this. Streaky, runny polish with lousy application. And I didn't buy another OPI for a long time...

Since I'm mint green lover, can you recommend some other mint greens that I must have?
Can you tell me which minty polishes you own and what do you think of them (color, application...).

Maybelline mini Colorama no.64 Vibrant Fuchsia

This color is exactly like it's name says: vibrant fuchsia!  Beautiful pinky fuchsia with blue-ish (purple-ish) micro shimmer that makes the warm pink more cold, but still vibrant. What a description, now I'm confused! :)

I always remember my first... First love, first kiss, first beer can that I collected (now I have over 200), first polish I ever bought (now I have almost 150)....

Back at the time when I wasn't a polish addict, I owned few polishes, some of them were presents, some were given to me when they were sticky and old by my friends, and most of the time I used my momma's polishes. I'm begining to think that she would be a polish addict herself if she was born when I was, since she grew up when only few shades could be found in our stores, and she had almost all of them. Today, she says she's too old for this, but she still supports my hoarding, though :) Thanks, mom!

But then came the time I saw this beauty and since it was too bright for my mom's collection, it was the first polish I ever bought for myself! And when I used the first bottle, I started to buy other polishes, but some time ago I bought it again, and now I tried it after some time. And again, I'm loving this color!

 These first two were taken indoors, and the other three outdoors. It was so sunny outside that my hands look yellow-ish from all that light...
This is two easy coats of Vibrant Fuchsia.
I'm sorry I applied it yesterday when it was dark, and I washed my hair this morning, so there's some tip wear, but I'm sure you wouldn't notice it if I didn't mention it, would you? :)

Maybelline Minty

I'm a huge fan of mint colors, and this one is the most perfect mint color of them all! Okay, I still have Orly Gumdrop to swatch, but it leans toward blue too much to be a true minty.
Yes, so the color of this Maybelline is awesome, BUT it's the most horrible  polish to put on, application is terrible... First coat is uneven, and that is expected with a color like this, but the problem with second and third layer is that they don't even the whole thing, but are more difficult to apply. This polish proudly says it's dry in 50 sec. Yes, that's true, but it starts to dry while you're applying it, so you have to be ubelievably quick and precise to put this polish on.
I'm polishing my nails for years now and I thought I can put any polish and make it look good, but this was quite a challenge.
I think I'll wear it only for special occasions, altough the color is sweet.
